Ethical Supply Chain
Tiger Supplies is committed to maintaining a responsible, ethical and transparent supply chain. We recognise that ethical risk does not stop at our own operations and therefore apply structured governance, due diligence and ongoing monitoring across suppliers, regions and product categories. Ethical supply chain management is embedded within our ISO-certified management systems and is reviewed at senior management and Board level.
Ethical Governance Framework
Ethical supply chain management at Tiger Supplies is governed through a combination of formal policies, supplier controls and management oversight.
These include:
• Supplier Code of Conduct
• Ethical Trading and Corporate Responsibility policies
• Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
• ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
These frameworks ensure ethical considerations are consistently applied, monitored and improved across procurement, operations and supplier engagement.
Supplier Approval & Due Diligence
All suppliers are required to complete a Supplier Approval Questionnaire prior to onboarding. This process is mandatory and applies to both UK and international suppliers.
The approval process requires suppliers to confirm compliance with:
• Applicable employment and labour laws
• Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code principles
• Health and safety standards
• Environmental and social responsibility requirements
Supplier approval is not a one-time exercise. Existing suppliers are reviewed on a rolling 12-month cycle, with enhanced scrutiny applied where risk profiles change.
Labour Standards & Worker Welfare
Tiger Supplies requires all suppliers to uphold minimum labour standards that align with internationally recognised ethical principles.
These standards include confirmation that:
• Workers are employed in safe and acceptable conditions with appropriate welfare facilities
• Wages meet or exceed local legal requirements and are sufficient to meet basic living needs
• Working hours comply with local labour law and are not excessive
• Employment is regular and not based on exploitative or forced arrangements
• No discrimination is practised
• Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected
• No forced labour, child labour, slave labour or involuntary labour is used
These commitments apply equally to domestic and international suppliers.
Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking
Tiger Supplies has voluntarily implemented a Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement, despite falling below the statutory turnover threshold for mandatory reporting.
The statement outlines the steps taken to prevent modern slavery within our operations and supply chain, including:
• Mandatory supplier approval and review processes
• Risk-based supplier assessment
• Employee training and awareness
• Escalation and corrective action procedures
Modern slavery due diligence is embedded within our ISO-certified management systems, ensuring traceability, consistency and external verification through independent audits.
Risk-Based Supply Chain Assessment
Tiger Supplies applies a risk-based approach to ethical supply chain management.
The majority of suppliers are based in the UK and European Union, where established legal frameworks reduce ethical risk. However, selected products and materials are sourced from regions recognised as higher risk, including parts of Asia and South America.
For higher-risk geographies or product categories, enhanced due diligence measures are applied, which may include:
• Additional policy and compliance documentation
• Independent third-party audit reports
• Site visits conducted by Tiger Supplies personnel
• Use of approved independent auditors
Supplier risk profiles are reviewed regularly and adjusted based on geopolitical, environmental and operational factors.
Independent Auditing & Verification
Where enhanced due diligence is required, Tiger Supplies works with independent audit and inspection partners to provide additional assurance.
These audits assess areas such as:
• Working conditions
• Health and safety practices
• Labour standards
• Management systems
• Ethical compliance
Audit findings are reviewed internally, and suppliers are required to address any identified non-compliance through corrective action plans.
Corrective Action & Escalation
If a supplier is identified as presenting an ethical risk or non-compliance, Tiger Supplies applies a defined escalation process.
This includes:
• Requirement for a corrective action plan within a defined timeframe
• Monitoring of corrective actions to completion
• Suspension or termination of the supplier relationship if issues are not satisfactorily resolved
Ethical performance and supplier risk are reported at senior management and Board level to ensure accountability and oversight.
Supply Chain Mapping & Transparency
Tiger Supplies recognises that ethical risks may exist beyond direct Tier 1 suppliers.
As part of due diligence processes, suppliers may be required to confirm:
• Country of origin of key raw materials
• Source of critical components
• Sub-tier supplier involvement where applicable
Where information is available, supply chain mapping is undertaken for higher-risk products to improve visibility beyond direct suppliers.
Fair Treatment & Responsible Trading
Tiger Supplies applies the same principles of fair treatment across its entire supply chain, regardless of geography.
This includes:
• Clear and timely communication
• Fair and prompt payment practices
• Respectful and collaborative relationships
• Long-term supplier engagement where appropriate
International suppliers are treated with the same standards and expectations as domestic suppliers, while recognising the need for enhanced oversight where risk profiles differ.
Training & Awareness
Employees involved in procurement, supplier management and operations receive training to support ethical supply chain management.
This includes:
• Awareness of modern slavery and labour exploitation risks
• Understanding of supplier approval and escalation processes
• Ongoing updates aligned with regulatory and best practice developments
Training completion and effectiveness are monitored as part of compliance and governance oversight.
Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Ethical supply chain performance is monitored through defined KPIs and management review processes, including:
• Supplier approval and review completion rates
• Audit findings and corrective actions
• Training completion rates
• Identified risk trends and mitigation actions
This information is reviewed at Board level to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with business and ethical objectives.
Commitment
Tiger Supplies is committed to operating an ethical, responsible and transparent supply chain. Ethical considerations are treated as an integral part of supplier selection, procurement decisions and long-term partnerships.
Our approach is designed not only to meet legal and contractual requirements, but to uphold the standards expected by blue-chip customers, employees and wider stakeholders.
